Millie the Model in London, The Covers! #6

Cover of Millie the Model Super-Size Special #2 (February 1968*), art by Colleen Coover

Okay, okay, ya got me. Millie's not in London in this one. But it's got the version of the Sentry that everybody loves (or, more accurately, everybody doesn't hate), and it's by Colleen Coover! The only thing that could make it better would be if it was in London!

*And yes, although the cover doesn't give the year, this likely happened in '68, because it's after the 1967 wedding of Toni Turner (mentioned in the story), as chronicled in Millie the Model Annual #6. As I like to say: It's canon, fanboys!

Please stand by

We're experiencing technical difficulties (mostly with rassin'-frassin' Flickr), so I'm going to wait until my return to the land of Arby's and Dan Rather to post my London photos and experiences. So stay tuned (later on) to learn all about my visit to Harrods (and my startling encounter with Mohamed Al-Fayed in the Egyptian Hall), the most exclusive donut in the world, how to drive a Routemaster bus through a busy museum, and my trip to must-visit London comic book shop Orbital Comics. Until then...give Flickr a good kick in the side for me, folks!

No empty bench in Soho Square

An empty bench in Soho Square
If you'd have come you'd have found me there

Kirsty MacColl's bench in Soho Square

One day you'll be waiting there, no empty bench in Soho Square
And we'll dance around like we don't care

One day I'll be waiting there, no empty bench in Soho Square

One day you'll be waiting there, no empty bench in Soho Square
No I don't know the reason why I'll love you till the day I die
But one day you'll be waiting there
Come summertime in Soho Square
And I'll be painting stars up in the sky
Before I get too old to cry before my birthday
I hope I see those pigeons fly before my birthday
In Soho Square on my birthday
