...and Ben Grimm!

Later, Ben and the flight attendant caught the game at Shea Stadium and then went out to get pizza and a few pitchers of beer. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Because neither one of them were driving a car.

The only way this scene could have been better? If they had been serving my pal JustJenn's famous Superhero Cupcakes!

So, in the interest of improving the moment when Ben Grimm met his new platonic pal, Denny the Flight Attendant, let's add some great cupcakes from JustJenn!:

Cupcakes, everybody! You get a big delight in every bite!

We now present a public rebuttal

"Comics Oughta Be Fun!" subscribes to the FCC's Fairness in Blogging Doctrine*, requiring the holders of blogging licenses to both present controversial issues of public importance and to do so in a manner that was, in the FCC's view, honest, equitable and balanced. We here at "Comics Oughta Be Fun!" now present a public rebuttal to a viewpoint previously expressed on this blog. The following does not reflect the ideas or viewpoints of the blogger of "Comics Oughta Be Fun!," his little stuffed sister, or his otter friend.

Edited segment of a full letter from a reader in Thor #160 (January 1969)

This has been a public rebuttal to a viewpoint previously expressed on this blog. We at "Comics Oughta Be Fun!" welcome conflicting viewpoints to ours and will feature some of them publicly in this blog with the express purpose of making fun of them. We now return to your regular internet, already in progress.

365 Days with the Warriors Three, Day 129

Splash page panel from Marvel Spotlight #30 (October 1976), script by Len Wein, breakdowns by John Buscema, finishes by by Joe Sinnott, colors by Glynis Wein, letters by Gaspar Saladino

I've often wondered if Marvel Spotlight #30 was supposed to be Thor number two-forty-something during that period—Wein and Buscema were also working on the main book—and the editor just kicked it over to Marvel Spotlight instead.

EDIT on 5/22/11: Well, maybe I'm wrong there. Here's a listing from a Marvel Bullpen Bulletins from the same period (from Fantastic Four #169 (April 1976), stating that the story is being done specifically for Marvel Spotlight:

Well, That'll Happen: I knew I should have taken that left turn at Albuquerque

The Mid-Day Matinee this week, all week: Well, That'll Happen! Put up your feet during your lunch hour and gasp in amazement at the events that just keep occurin'!
